Spring Seminar 2008

Gesher-Tavor

Shalom Everyone,

I'm sending you this Email, to find out if you will be interested in participating in a joint spring seminar for Gesher and Tavor in March.

The Seminar will take place in Windsor Canada (6 hours away from Chicago, 20 minutes away from Detroit) on the last weekend of March.

Who is it for?

We planned the seminar for: Pre-Madatz, Bogrim (Pre-MBI age), Bonim (Pre-Bogrim)

Dates:

28-30 of March 2008

What are our goals?

1. Establish a platform for a connection between Machanot on a permanent basis.

2. Support, develop and train future leadership Shicvot (Age groups) starting from Bonim level. Shifting responsibilities to the younger shichvah (Age group).

3. Strengthen the activity within the Eizor (region)/Ken by encouraging a dialogue between Machanot (Camps).

4. Giving pre-MBI'ers a chance to meet prior to the MBI and get their input, concern and expectation on the program. Engage Mazkirut member in the Dialogue, and participants from the most recent MBI.

5. Engage post MBI'ers in the camp and region, before becoming a Madatz, and write tangible common goals for the following year.

6. Incorporate the people who didn't go to MBI as potential Madatzim.

Logistics:

There will be a bus, going from Chicago through Ann-Arbor & Detroit going to Windsor.

Sleeping arrangements- In the JCC in Windsor. Website: http://www.jewishwindsor.org

There will be a kosher food.

There will be a professional nurse at all times.

The number of consulters will be set according to the number of participants

Cost:

The cost is 150$ for transportation, room and board for the whole weekend.

Do you think you can come / send your kids? If you do, please email/facebook me by the end of the weekend.

If you don't, I would be happy to hear why not, and to figure out if there is something I can do about it.

Please consult with your parents before answering

Hi! Ron asked me to post this on here. There is a film about Darfur that's showing in Detroit. It's showing starting Wednesday continuing through Friday. We can't go to the Friday one because we have a peulah. The Wednesday or Thursday one might work.

~PLEASE don't forget to get people to write articles for each peulah!!! have a couple people in mind

just in case someone can't do it.

~ I should probably start an e-mail group for tzevet...only thing is, i have no idea how to start one.

I'll still send things out on facebook, since people tend to check that more than their e-mail, but

for those of us who aren't on facebook, it would probably be better to start an e-mail group.

So if anyone wants to tell me how to do it/ start one and tell me how to run it that would be

AMAZING

-The rashei vaad should contact Matan or Yoni or me when they’re going to have an asepha so we

can sit in on it.

-If you have questions about the tochnit, please feel free to call yoni or matan or maya.

- Calendar We will be planning January dates as soon as we get closer to it. You should schedual

asephot to plan these peulot about 2 weeks before the peulah. In that asepha you will need to

figure out who is making a flier and get that flier to Ron (ronsussman@aol.com) AT LEAST 12

DAYS before the peulah.

-You should also get someone to write an article about the peulah for the

newsletter. The writer can be a chanich or a member of tzevet. When they’ve written it they

should send it to Ethan Slabosky (etherslab@sbcglobal.net) so he can put together our

newsletter.

-Keep finding contacts of new kids for me and if you’re not on a vaad, contact me and I’ll put you on

one.

-ALSO if you know any one who wants to be on Ken Pardes Tzevet, give me their contact stuff so I

can get them set up!
